The apartment is lovely. It's an intelligently designed and well executed space, and it's well equipped- perfect for single person or a couple. The location is unbeatable. Two things were less than perfect. The first is merely an inconvenience, but I think that the owner of this not inexpensive apartment should acknowledge and return correspondence from its renters. Lacking any response from the owner to the email I was asked to send, I had doubts about being met upon arrival and had no information about the preferred method of payment. A very nice, young Russian woman was waiting when we arrived, however, and we were quickly settled. The second and really serious and unacceptable thing is that the access stairway is in such a serious state of disrepair that it's dangerous. I am familiar and quite comfortable with Barcelona's old buildings and narrow stairs; but this stairway is only just over two feet wide, and its landings are cluttered with ladders, tools, and pieces of wood. A great many of its terra cotta tiles, especially the ones at the edges of the steps, are broken, lose, or altogether missing. Add to that the fact that the light bulbs on every level were burned out, so that the stairs, which have no natural light, were completely dark. I climbed a ladder and replaced three of the bulbs myself. But even with light, and careful as I was, I slipped on a broken tile on our last day, fell, and got my arms all scraped from the brick walls and the jagged edges of the steps. I'm not a picky renter, and I'm not accustomed to writing letters of complaint; but I think your clients deserve to be safe in their accommodations. I loved this apartment and would rent it again, but not until the stair is thoroughly repaired and well lit. Thank for for asking for this review. I hope it's helpful.
