Barceloneta, is located in the old town of Barcelona, Ciutat Vella and is a neighborhood full of stories. Its starts in the eighteenth century, when the inhabitants of La Ribera were displaced from their homes to maybe way for the construction of the Ciudadela of Barcelona, now an attractive park. They were relocated into a newly designed neighborhood, Barceloneta, which has a triangular shape and is flanked by the sea. Today it is a very popular area for tourists who want to rent an apartment in Barceloneta, as it has plenty of entertainment options including great seafood restaurants, bars, clubs and malls, not to mention the beach!
At the end of the famous Ramblas, a promenade that connects Plaça Catalunya to the sea, it is Barceloneta. Staying at an apartment in Barceloneta gives you a chance to go to many places and see many things. In the district of Barceloneta is Barcelona Zoo and L'Aquarium, one of the largest marine aquariums in Europe. Head down to the Olympic Port, where you´ll also find many restaurants, bars and a casino, if you´re in a gambling mood.
